About Division 17
There are currently 11 traditional Kiwanis Clubs in Division 17.
Pitt County also has an Aktion Club, a community-service club for adults who live with a disability.
Division 17 sponsors several Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs, including Circle K at ECU, Key Clubs at JH Rose, South Central, Farmville, Ayden-Grifton, Northside, Washington, and Southside High Schools. A Builders Club at Ayden Middle, K-Kids Clubs at South Greenville Elementary and Northwest Elementary involve younger students in our communities.
All of the Division 17 Kiwanis Clubs sponsor Terrific Kids programs, as well as BUG (bringing up grades) programs.
Local high school students are sponsored annually to attend the Key Leader program that teaches leadership and team building skills.
First graders in Beaufort County receive their own books and all third graders in Pitt and Beaufort Counties receive their own dictionaries from various Kiwanis clubs.
Currently, there are approximately 430 Kiwanians in Division 17.
