Friday, May 21 is the date for the Les Garner Award Banquet and Reverse Raffle. Please plan to join us around 6:30pm at the Shrine Club on Tar Road in Winterville.
We plan to accomplish two goals with the banquet. First, we will have the presentation of the inaugural Les Garner Award for outstanding Kiwanian in Division 17. We have six outstanding nominations and plan to announce them to the press on or around April 26, which is Les Garner’s birthday.
Second, this is a perfect opportunity to raise money for the Les Garner Kiwanis Teen Lounge at the Children’s Hospital in Greenville through a reverse raffle. We are gathering some great prizes for this event and expect to sell tickets for $10 each. We are also planning some special entertainment for the evening.
Stay tuned. More details coming soon.

Les Garner Kiwanis Award
Division 17 created the Les Garner Kiwanis Award to honor and memorialize our friend Les Garner and his many contributions to Kiwanis and the community. His outgoing nature, integrity, and advocacy of Kiwanis rightfully earned him the nickname “Mr. Kiwanis”. It is our hope that in some small way this award will help to remind us all of how he perfectly embodied the Kiwanis Spirit.
Six nominations have been received. Now's it is up to the judges to determine who will be the inaugural recipient of the Les Garner Award. (read more)
